Alen Simonyan has been criticized for spending much time on Facebook

From 11 to 20 August, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Vice-president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 54 articles were declared, 7 of which were negative and 47 were neutral.

There are no positive articles on the NA Vice President Alen Simonyan, the number of critical articles and overall number of articles is not large, but there are various negative publications during this vacation period.

Alen Simonyan has been in particularly criticized for spending much time on Facebook. His comments with a Facebook user have not been welcomed either.

Alen Simonyan has also been criticized for his judgements on General Samvel Karapetyan. His comments are not accepted by the public and this is reflected in the media field.

According to media reports, Alen Simonyan’s statement that their visit to Lebanon was organized by the local Dashnaks is untrue. The same news agency claims that the Lebanese wing of the Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) has denied the information.

Various critical points existing in articles should be of concern to the NA Vice President’s team.
