The main topic of the recent releases of the “Azatutyun” news center has been the legal process on the Judge David Grigoryan. He is always reminded to be the judge who released Robert Kocharyan, a key person to be accused for the “March 1 case”. During an August 4 broadcast of “Sunday Analytical with Tamrazyan”, an exclusive interview with human rights activist Tigran Yegoryan was aired. Yegoryan mentioned that he does not see any strange thing that “a judge who has committed a criminal offense is being prosecuted” and emphasizes that “there are many officials waiting for their turn to take the responsibility.”
Hrayr Tamrazyan specifically reminds that Judge David Grigoryan has made a judgement on “Bread Bringer” Arthur Sargsyan’s (Known in Armenia as a man who brought food to the members of Sasna Tsrer armed group during the 2016 Yerevan hostage crisis.) preventive measure and asks Tigran Yegoryan to re-evaluate the verdict, who, in his turn, recalls the entire process, from seizing the police station to Sargsyan’s health worsening and death, which, up to him, had been a result of being put in prison. By the way, in the text version of the interview with Yegoryan, the lawyer Yervand Varosyan’s point of view is presented within a minute. The lawyer noted that the judge does not accept the charge that David Grigoryan refused to testify at the Special Investigation Service (SIS), saying that the incident was conditioned by his former decisions. However, the video interview with Yegoryan lasts for about 40 minutes, which allows us to conclude that “Azatutyun” continues to prepare interviews and reports on the subjects and topics, providing a “lion’s share” of coverage to those who defend the authorities’ standpoint which in turn contradicts the rules of disseminating comprehensive information.
