“The 5th Channel” violates the rules of fair and objective journalism. Agnesa Khamoyan, a journalist of the “5th Channel” mainly hosts opposition representatives, who regularly criticize the authorities. However, it should be noted that according to Agnesa Khamoyan, she does not manage to invite guests from the government’s wing as they boycott the “5th Channel”.
It turns out that those who hold opposite opinion are hardly met in the pavilion. Representatives of the authorities who appear in the pavilion meet Agnesa Khamoyan’s criticizing questions and here we have a situation with a pure oppositional stance rather than a balanced airing.
“Media Advocate” initiative calls on the authorities not to prevent their representatives from attending Agnesa Khamoyan’s programs, and urges “The 5th channel” to balance its airing and not to show obvious bias but to be neutral according to principles of Ethical Journalism.
