Naira Zohrabyan continues to receive positive acclaim in media field

From 11 to 20 July, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly Naira Zohrabyan’s personality and activities. 35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 190 articles were declared, 3 of which were positive, 1 was negative and 186 were neutral.

Naira Zohrabyan continues to receive positive acclaim in media field. During this ten-day period there were publications on the news outlets according to which Mrs. Zohrabyan has been targeted by LGBT community. The MP had a conflict with transgender woman Lilit Martirosyan and the above-mentioned community tries to raise their issue through Naira Zohrabyan. MP Maria Karapetyan, member of the NA Standing Committee on Human Rights headed by Naira Zohrabyan, in turn, criticizes the committee’s activity, according to press.

Naira Zohrabyan is also actively engaged in the issues of pre-conscription age soldiers and the soldiers who currently undergo a compulsory military service. During his ten-day period, the MP was dealing with soldier Yuri Broyan’s issue and said that the soldier was not a “malingerer” and can’t serve in the army and applied to the Ministry of Defense.

Mrs. Zohrabyan will most likely be criticized at the time when the adoption of the Declaration of Istanbul becomes more urgent, with the PAP being opposed. Mrs. Zohrabyan is well-known with a team attitude and is unlikely to deviate from the PAP general directives.
