The minister’s rating has dropped dramatically

From 21 to 30 June, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the RA Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan’s personality and activities.

35 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 121 articles were declared, 36 of which were negative, 2 were positive and 83 were neutral.

The minister’s rating has dropped dramatically. Only 2 positive articles have been declared in this ten-day period. The news agencies write that the vacant position of the director of the “Republican Narcological Center” CJSC may be trusted to Arsen Torosyan’s course mate. It is mentioned that Arsen Torosyan’s other friend is also being related to another vacancy. Rumors on such kind of cases of “nepotism” may be found related to almost all politicians who are currently monitored by us.

The CC congress is still being discussed and the fact of Sasun Mikayelyan’s not being elected as a member of the CC Board has raised discussions both in the CC and beyond the party. The media have focused on this topic and noted that Arsen Torosyan has probably been among those party representatives who worked against Sasun Mikayelyan. The news outlets note that the Prime Minister does everything to mitigate the problem.

Doctor Marine Khachatryan, in her turn, wrote that Arsen Torosyan’s health condition does not allow him to be a blood donor because the medicine he uses are incompatible with donorship. Mrs. Marine mentions that if donorship has been acceptable, it means that Arsen Torosyan’s release from the army was nothing but a violation of the law.

The news agencies also wrote about Arsen Torosyan’s birthday, in particular, how much money was spent։ Torosyan, by the way, celebrated his birthday at Marriott Hotel in Tsakhkadzor.

After remarks introduced above, the minister must answer at least a few questions:

  1. Is sponsorship implemented or not? According to which principle, the employees are being chosen?
  2. Does his health allow him to be a blood donor or not?
