During the court hearing on the case of “Robert Kocharyan and others” accused of overthrowing the constitutional order, Kocharyan’s supporters and opposing team representatives gather in the courtyard of the Criminal Court of Appeals and mutually insult each other.
On June 20, “Azatutyun” broadcasted another protest action in the courtyard. Kocharyan’s supporters publicly insulted “Azatutyun” journalists just in front of the camera.
“Media Advocate” initiative urges politicians and their supporters to respect the professional work of the media outlets, their duties and rights, and not hinder their activities. It is unacceptable and reprehensible to insult the media outlets. Such phenomena harshly contradict the principles of democratic values and freedom of the press.
