According to Analitik.am website editor-in-chief Ani Hovhannisyan, the State Revenue Committee (SRC) has undertaken tax repressions against them.
According to Ms. Hovhannisyan, the state body has violated the agreement reached earlier, according to which “Media Idea” LLC, under which Analitik.am is operated, was obliged to partially comply with tax obligations, but currently company’s accounts have been frozen. All this happened after the report of the media outlet on the SRC vice-president Rustam Badasyan who has not served in the army.
“Media Advocate” initiative calls for immediate cessation of pressure on the media, urges not to make official levers a tool of personal revenge. In the name of freedom of expression, we are ready to provide Ani Hovhannisyan with the necessary legal support both on Armenian and international platforms. We urge the accredited diplomatic representations and international organizations to properly assess any step of the Armenian authorities aimed at violating the freedom of speech.
