An incident occurred between the former 24news journalist Diana Davtyan and the protest activists during a protest organized by VETO organization near the Open Society Foundation office. In an interview with Armtimes.com, the reporter noted that she was threatened and some people were taking pictures of her.
According to Ani Hovhannisyan, one of the founders of VETO organization, the journalist tried to personally insult her.
The “Media Advocate” Initiative calls on Diana Davtyan and all journalists to maintain correctness during these kinds of actions, not to become an interested party, to avoid emotive approach and maintain journalistic ethics, otherwise not to call themselves as a journalist.
In their turn, the action participants must provide a proper approach to journalists, not hindering their work.
It should be noted that video or photo recordings at public events is not a violation of the law (except for special cases) and may not be considered as a private life intervention.
