The journalist was accused of raising “ordered” questions

During a briefing with reporters, the Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the chairman of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Gagik Tsarukyan accused journalists of asking “ordered” questions. He then added that one of those who raised an “ordered question is Hripsime Jebejyan, a journalist of Aravot.am.

“Media Advocate” Initiative calls on PAP President Mr. Tsarukyan and other politicians to refrain from baseless assessments and urges not to offend journalists’ professional activities and work. The professional work of a journalist is nothing but raising questions, regardless of the fact whether the politician likes or dislikes the raised issue.

Politicians, in turn, have a right not to answer to the questions if they do not have any relation to their professional activities and are not linked to the immediate responsibilities of the deputy.
