From 11 to 20 May, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Member of the National Assembly Naira Zurabyan’s personality and activities. 34 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 103 articles were declared, 17 of which were negative, 8 were positive and 78 were neutral.
There are far more negative than positive articles on Naira Zohrabyan this time. The member of the National Assembly (NA) has mainly been criticized by Hakob Karapetyan, a spokesperson of Yerevan Municipality, whose criticism was actually the result of MP’s critical approach to Hayk Marutyan. Furthermore, the MP was in her turn criticized by Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Zaruhi Batoyan. The latter did not like the fact that Naira Zohrabyan has publicized the topic of pregnancy of a 13-year-old child.
The above mentioned two cases prove the fact that the MP is active not only in the political field, but also in the issue of raising public issues.
