We urge the law enforcement bodies to refrain from creating groundless cases against bloggers and activists who criticize the authorities

The founder of the NGO and the video blog “Adekvad”, Arthur Danielyan, the cameraman, Grigor Minasyan and the editor-in-chief of “Blognews” website, Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan were detained by the police yesterday. This is another action against freedom of speech. In fact, the launch of the “Adekvad” NGO’s activity was accompanied by arrest.

First, a complaint was filed against Arthur Danielyan and Konstantin Ter-Nakalyan on the basis of the press release. Arthur Ispiryan, a member of the Council of the Elders of “My Step” alliance, told that he was attacked. Afterwards, he denied the news and spoke of insults.

In the evening, during a political action, the members of the “Adekvad” NGO were detained on the basis of an unknown person’s report. First of all, it is clear from the video that police are in confusion and do not know who should be detained to the police, in fact, they are guided by the identities of the NGO and only those who were wearing “Adekvad’s” shirts were taken to the police.

We urge the law enforcement bodies to refrain from creating groundless cases against bloggers and activists who criticize the authorities.
