“Azatutyun” again demonstrated a biased position:

On May 16, “Azatutyun” presented an interview entitled “If Kocharyan is set free, it will endanger May 1 disclosure for the second time”, hosting Armen Khachatryan, a member of the ANC Legal Affairs Committee. The debate over the topic was again one-sided because there was not any representative from the opposite side. Moreover, the journalist’s questions to the guest were obviously orienting and impartial during the whole interview. Although if opposite side is absent, the journalist should ensure the balance of the interview with opposite questions (3: 54-4: 25,7: 33-9: 46).

Questions were followed by certain messages. Particularly, the judge’s tolerance towards Robert Kocharyan’s behavior in the court and the lack of his competence were emphasized (7: 33-9: 46). The current threat and the expected outcome of influencing the judge’s future decision were also pointed out. The satisfaction of the mediation of the defense was qualified as pressure on the judge and an unlawful action.

The above mentioned, once again, affirms that “Azatutyun” continues its biased position.
