From 1 to 10 May, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan’s personality and activities.
34 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 186 articles were declared, 10 of which were negative, 6 were positive and 172 were neutral.
Positive and negative articles on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan are equal during this ten-day period. Most of the positive articles refer to a fact of Anna Hakobyan’s wearing Armenian clothing brands.
Meanwhile, the negative articles are related to the Artsakh issue. After Anna Hakobyan’s brother, MP Hrachya Hakobyan’s following statement, “There is no problem, maybe Robert Kocharyan is from Artsakh, that’s probably the reason they (recalling the presidents of Artsakh) have applied. I do not know, or maybe he is their friend. That’s the only thing”, the news outlets reminded of Anna Hakobyan’s scandalous interview to the “Voice of America” linking these two positions to each other.
