On May 13, Azatutyun news agency launched an interview with Vardges Gaspari with the following headline “Kocharyan’s supporters don’t know anything but violence”.
The subject of the interview was the incident in front of the court during the “March 1” case trial. As a result of the incident between Robert Kocharyan’s supporters and activists, Vardges Gaspari was hit in the face with a bottle of water. During the interview, the journalist regarded the incident as “aggression”, moreover that position was repeated several times: That’s a vivid example of impartiality (1:49-2:18). It is noteworthy that no representative was invited to the interview representing the other side, although the video contained fragments of the incident (6.12-6:30). This is an example of a biased coverage. It should be reminded that the “Media Advocate” initiative also touched upon the biased position of “Azatutyun” several days ago.
