The criticism directed against Nikol Pashinyan has increased

From 1 to 10 April, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan’s personality and activities.

34 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.

In the specified period, 4552 articles were declared, 914 of which were negative, 302 were positive and 3366 were neutral.

The criticism directed against Nikol Pashinyan has increased in these ten days. The problems in the field of the economy became the main reason of criticism. The society is complaining about the policies of businessmen and entrepreneurs, and the media in its turn describes these phenomena as pressures undertaken by the authorities.

During her visit to the United States, Anna Hakobyan gave an interview to the “Voice of America”, which received criticism as well. When being interviewed, Mrs. Hakobyan said: “Our soldiers died for nothing.” The pro-government wing insists that the phrase is cut off from the context, while the opponents continue to criticize it.
