From 11 to 20 March, 2019, the “Media Advocate” initiative followed online media reports on Arayik Harutyunyan’s personality and activities. 34 leading Armenian news agencies have been monitored.
In the specified period, 309 articles were declared, 68 of which were negative, 7 were positive and 234 were neutral.
The results of the study show that the interest in Arayik Harutyunyan’s personality and activity has grown in comparison with the previous ten days.
Monitoring shows that most of the education-related articles are negative; Arayik Harutyunyan’s patronizing activities are emphasized, as well as the appointments of “acquaintances” in the field of education, which has become the cause of dissatisfaction of the sector’s employees. A vivid example was the Prime Minister’s visit to the village of Ranchpar, where a citizen approached Nikol Pashinyan complaining of an atmosphere of injustice, claiming that the governor’s aunt’s daughter-in-law got a job in one of the schools.
Above mentioned shows that there are inter-agency contradictions in the government team (Ministry- Regional Administration). It should be reminded that the government assured that the practice of “nepotism” will be excluded.
